The Ultimate Source for Wine
Collecting, Cellaring and Serving

‘Tis the season to eat, drink wine and be merry!

The holidays are almost here… time to dust down some favourites from your collection and look no further for a little inspiration.

Now, when we’re talking yuletide pairings a sparkling red wine can be more versatile that you think.

Try a Morris Rutherglen Sparkling Shiraz Durif with a roast leg of ham, or even to accompany Christmas pudding which isn’t too sweet!

If you’re tucking into turkey or other poultry come Christmas Day then add a Gevrey Chambertin from Joseph Drouhin, 100% Pinot Noir to the trimmings.

A particularly excellent pairing is a well-aged Château Suduiraut Sauternes with foie gras served on crusty bread.

Seafood and fish lovers should try a dry Riesling from Alsace such as a Clos Windsbuhl from Zind Humbrecht, a great winemaker and leading authority in biodynamic wines.

And not forgetting a selection for cheese. A Sancerre from Francois Cotat, 100% Sauvignon Blanc and a Saumur from Domaine Guiberteau, 100% Chenin, both pair beautifully with soft cheeses.

Cheers to you all and season’s greetings from the Vintec team!
