The Barossa Valley spirit blows onto the Vintec Club.
Vintec is delighted to host a series of dinners around Australia to celebrate the iconic Barossa Valley, with one of its purest representative, Maverick Wines.
Ronald Brown, founder and winemaker of Maverick Wines, will embark you to discover his top terroirs from across the Barossa Valley and Eden Valley, home of the very best expressions of Shiraz.
Ron will tell you more about organic and biodynamic viticulture - philosophy he adopted as soon as 1993 to enhance what Mother Nature offers. Importing it in Australia, Ron has made Maverick one of the leading edge biodynamic vineyard and wineries in the New World.
For our Brisbane stop, we decided to partner with one of the city's most acclaimed food destination, Urbane Restaurant. After working in Paris for 6 years at Michelin starred restaurants, its Executive Chef, Andrew Gunn, has returned to its home city, proposing a modern European-inspired bistro food. We proposed him the mission to pair the wines with the most inventive cuisine he was thinking of. "Challenge accepted" he said - a 4-course menu will be expecting the guests. The pairing promises to be terrific.
Seats to this exclusive experience are strictly restricted to 27 and are priced at $180 pp for Vintec Club members only (limit of 3 guests per Vintec Club member).

The Maverick - surprise vintage
"We do things a bit differently around here. We don't do things in the normal method - we're very Maverick" said Ronald Brown.
Lifelong biodynamic farmer and viticulturist, Ron is breaking the mould, pioneering in implementing organic and biodynamic techniques in his vines for more than 20 years in a region where it usually runs very contrary by most commercial wineries of the region.
He has always searched to express what the Barossa Valley offers best - the soil, the climate, what basically lies beneath. His wines result in a thread of purity that comes through the vine, into the grape and finally into the wine. And the restaurants/bottle shops of the world make no mistake: Maverick Wines are on the tables of the finest restaurants around the world.
His dream would be to see Australians developing more confidence in true organic and biodynamic farming and really appreciate the product of all this natural bounty that we have in abundance.
